Basic assessment (for both appraisals and inspections) requires photo documentation of the essential parts of the vehicle including exterior, interior, engine bay and components, underside (drivetrain and suspension) and wheels/tires.

 

Those photos will be used to describe each area, point out highlights or deficiencies and generally provide a commentary about the vehicle that someone not familiar will have a good enough description to understand overall vehicle condition. Photos may be 20-30 in number, though modified vehicles may require more images.
