Pre-purchase
An inspection requires some images and typically they might focus on problem areas that might be of concern to a potential buyer...underside/sheet metal (rust or damage), condition of suspension, steering or seating surfaces and engine compartment (is it clean and well maintained?)
Some sellers will provide extensive images of a vehicle including exterior, interior, underside, engine, trunk, wheels and tires, etc. The inspection should confirm what those pictures show and provide any additional detail that will help a buyer decide if the vehicle is "as described" and point out any major flaws that might have an impact on the value of the vehicle.
A formal cover letter is provided that describes the inspection and any areas of concern plus what the inspector believes is the condition of the various areas of the vehicle.
